Marie-Claude Cantin

Conscious entrepreneurship advisor

Elementary school teacher at first, then resource teacher, pedagogical counsellor and school vice-principal, Marie-Claude is always ready to overcome challenges and to share her passion for education. She has a bachelor’s degree in preschool and elementary school education from Université Laval as well as a professional master’s degree from Université de Sherbrooke. Entrepreneurship and innovation from an integral part of Marie-Claude’s academic and career path. As a matter of fact, she did her master’s project on the subject of “entrepreneurship: a powerful motivation” (l’entrepreneuriat : un moteur puissant) and she works since 2007 in an entrepreneurial school.

Now completing a post-graduate degree in school management, Marie-Claude is more than ever convinced that the integration of entrepreneurial education and new technologies in the classroom are essential tools to innovate and foster the motivation of kids. In 2018, she is recognized as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, a premier program created to recognize global educator visionaries who are using technologies to transform education.

Supporting teachers in their exploration of educational entrepreneurship has been one of Marie-Claude’s priority for several years and she dreams of seeing a growing number of active, innovative and committed youth in our schools. Her pedagogical choices are guided by the quote: “you tell me I forget; you teach me I remember; you involve me I learn”.
