A specialist in continuing education, Patrick Piérard has held senior positions in Québec schools (Canada), for over 20 years. He also acts as a consultant for international partners. Developer of the Centre de qualification professionnelle et d’entrepreneuriat de Laval (CQPEL), he worked at the operations of this innovative centre that targets both youth and adult students with disabilities. Namely, he made it the first entrepreneurial community school (ECS) of his school district, the CSDL. Concerned about services offered to students in need, he managed the centre L’Impulsion, the biggest adult education centre in Laval offering both secondary level training and integration into the job market.
Earlier, as senior manager of the Maison Alpha, he implemented a unique adult literacy approach, by multiplying the partnerships between the community and businesses. As Director of Professional development at the CSDL, he implemented the skill-based approach during the reform for professional training in Québec. At the same time, he was strategic and technical consultant in Gabon as well as the Agence nationale de formation et de perfectionnement professionnel de Libreville and consultant for skills development for the institutions of the Institut national de la formation professionnelle in Haiti.
